Oh, another critter I saw on my recent eastern WV tour was a heron, in a pond in Pendleton County. Then I saw another one right here on the Gladesville Road yesterday. This one was flying, which I don't know that I've ever seen before. It looked like a freakin terradactyl! Long, pointed beak and long, relatively narrow wings that looked like blades cutting through the air. Birds are cool.
