Listening to: birdies Reading: the siren/titan thing Weather: 64, overcast rant>Yesterday I went to a meeting about quality assurance and improvement for the Aged and Disabled Medicaid Waiver program in WV. Bastille Day was a cool choice for this meeting, though no one mentioned that. Quality available home care is essential to shutting down the scourge that is the nursing home industry. Our whole system of long-term care is very antiquated, based on "beds," and needs to be totally revamped with personal autonomy is mind. What service can be provided in a NH that can't be provided in someone's home? Statistically people get shitloads more actual care in home and community settings than in NH's. Break down these walls.< /rant>
