Peter Jennings and RatDog rather Dead
Listening to:dory previn
Reading:various
Weather:69, raining
Wow, Peter Jennings died. That was pretty fast. He just stepped down from the big anchor gig about 4 months ago. He was my fave, over Brokaw and Rather, the last of those three to retire, but he didn't get to enjoy his retirement since he's been in cancer treatment. I like his steady style, but I also liked him because his politics seemed a little more left than the other two. Made me feel a little more confident that he'd let loose with truths the establishment might prefer to bury.

Now all I've got left for cute news anchor-types is Charlie Gibson. His politics aren't nearly as groovy, but he's such a doll, I watch him anyway.

The RatDog tour opened at Sunshine Daydream with an amazingly Dead-like setlist. Not at all what I expected, or what the Dog has played in the past. Even had some great Jerry tunes like Birdsong and Crazy Fingers. Kinda wish I'd devoted a little more energy to making the scene, hindsight being 20/20. Can't do it all, something we always want to do as early as 2 years old.
