a shorty about Brown & Dana
I just got home from a long but lovely day. I laid some cello tracks down for a song by dhruva'. It's the steps of a church singing to the bells. It reminded me of an old folk song I used to like called the Bells of Rhymney. I believe the Byrds had a minor hit with it, but the version I know is from an album called It Was A Very Good Year by an early 60's folk duo Brown & Dana. I loved that whole album. Joshua Fit the Battle of Jericho, the title cut, other nice tunes. I just googled Bells of Rhymney and it appears to be written by Pete Seeger and some Irish cat named Idris Davies, a miner from Rhymney.

And lo and behold, Garrett Brown was not only half of this smashing duo, but invented the Steadicam. INVENTED it, folks, how about that action.
