cool bit o'music trivia
I was just ripping a few tracks from the New Radicals album into mp3's. Do you remember this band, they had two hits in the US in 1998, "You Get What You Give" and "Someday We'll Know." I just couldn't get enough of these cats, especially that second hit. They only ever made one album, "maybe you've been brainwashed too" [sic]. They had such a funkyfresh flavor, part Hall and Oates, part Todd Rundgren, and the singer was a major Mick Jagger soundalike. High quality pop music with shades of rock and soul.

Apparently the singer (Gregg Alexander) was also the main writer and perhaps despot of the band. He broke up the band and that was that.

But he went on to produce other artists and continued to write, and you'll never freakin guess what major hit in 2003 he co-wrote? I'll give ya a hint, it was one of the greatest guitar players of all time plus young pop singer Michelle Branch. Now you've guessed it, it's Game of Love, which won a Grammy for best pop collab with vocals, and is a song I absolutely love.
